In Reporting Pain, Men Are the Norm

by lishra

The title of a recent New York Times blog post reads “In Reporting Pain, Women the More Sensitive Sex”. The article discusses the results of a Stanford University study that were published this week, comparing women’s and men’s reports of pain for identical medical ailments. What is mysteriously absent from the article in all of its hand wringing about women reporting “more pain” is a very obvious answer for the discrepancy: men simply underreport pain.

Rape is worse when it happens to men, reports the New York Times

by HUB Newsfeed

Recently, the New York Times reported that rape is worse when it happens to men than when it happens to women.

“There is no arena in which rape takes place between men and women that it does not take place between men and men[.]”

Like women, men who are raped feel violated and ashamed and may become severely depressed or suicidal. They are at increased risk for substance abuse, problems with interpersonal relationships, physical impairments, chronic pain, insomnia and other health problems.

But men also face a challenge to their sense of masculinity. Many feel they should have done more to fight off their attackers. Since they may believe that men are never raped, they may feel isolated and reluctant to confide in anyone. Male rape victims may become confused about their sexual orientation or, if gay and raped by a man, blame their sexual orientation for the rape.

See what they did there?  Rape is “X” when it happens to women; rape is “X+1” when it happens to men.  Of course, the Times would probably deny that’s what they said if they were ever asked about it, but look, folks: the math doesn’t lie.

Global Population to Reach 7-Billion…Due to Mandatory PIV

by FCM

womens bodies as something to be consumed. that about says it all.

as most people probably know by now, we are are predicted to hit the global population milestone of 7-billion on 10/31/11.  will anyone remember those digits like we remember 9/11?  will this ruin anyones halloween?  doubtful.  although imagining the standard halloween fare playing out this year, whereby so many men dress up as women and women dress like “sluts” does kind of put an ironic point on it.  as if “mens gender role” and their alleged inability to escape it in real life is of any concern to anyone, rather than the fact that male-bodied persons are sticking their dicks into women around the globe with full entitlement and no remorse.  and as if womens “prudishness” in real life and womens timeless, global resistance to PIV is a hurdle to be overcome, when PIV is known to cause unwanted pregnancy and women around the world report that their resistance is largely ineffective anyway, where men do whatever they want to women no matter how the women feel about it.  dont mind me, i surpassed mere cynicism 3 days ago.  every once in awhile we abuse “irony” and go right to living in a cartoon.

Presumed Innocent? Only if You’re Male

by Loretta Kemsley

“…this was a selfish, narcissistic, self-involved slut who wanted to kill her child to have “la bella vita.” Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera wasn’t reluctant to use sexual slurs as he condemned Casey Anthony, a woman on trial for the death of her daughter.

Fortunately, Ben Stein at American Spectator was outraged, “Presumed Innocent, Anyone?,” screamed his headline. Oh, wait, he wasn’t talking about Anthony. He was defending Dominque Strauss-Kahn, the former IMF chief charged with sexually assaulting a hotel maid.

And now the New York Post has joined Rivera in defending (not vilifying) Strauss-Kahn and smeared the maid with their own sexual slur: “Maid cleaning up as ‘hooker’ — Big tips for extra ‘turndown service’ — Prosecutors list litany of lies, scams.”
