Mainstream News Outlet Confuses “Sex” and “Stuck His Dick Into”

by FCM

its a common error.  and they made it more than once.  liberal dickwad/mainstream news outlet huffington post reports that a man has been arrested for having “sex” with his neighbors pink inflatable swimming pool raft.  sex, you say?  yep.  later, the same publication reports that a new mexico police officer has been fired for having the “sex” with a woman on the hood of his patrol car.  a security camera that just happened to be there shows that the officer is still in his uniform, but little else has been made public.  we dont know the identity of the woman, or all of the circumstances of this encounter, although the facts we do have certainly do not rule out the possibility of sexual abuse and abuse of power by a police officer, otherwise known as rape.  but apparently, as long as a man sticks his dick into something, anything, under any circumstances, huffington post is willing to call it “sex”.  got that?  good.

Real Men Don’t Buy Girls, They Just Do Everything Else

by lishra

I recently found out about the Real Men Don’t Buy Girls campaign from this Newsweek article about a new study of users of pornography and buyers of prostitutes. The campaign was started by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and it involves a number of videos featuring male celebrities promoting the anti-child-trafficking message. As I was watching the videos, it seemed almost every man featured had done something notably anti-woman that I could recall off the top of my head. While they may support anti-trafficking efforts, many of these guys don’t seem on board with my Men Shouldn’t Be Awful Jackasses campaign.

Mainstream News Outlet Confuses Sex, Rape in Jaycee Dugard Case

by FCM

this probably comes as no surprise to anyone who does know the difference (ie. women) but the mainstream media often confuses “sex” and “rape” when reporting on the horrific sexualized torture women routinely suffer at the hands of men.  in the case of jaycee dugard, the woman who was kidnapped as a child and held captive by a “serial sex-offender” for 20 years (sex?  really?) msnbc.com reports that she was subjected to “long, drug-fueled sex-sessions” during her imprisonment.  sex?  really?  yep.

Womb Rights, Womb Wrongs

by HUB Newsfeed

So. I heard in the news recently that pregnant women having natural abortions (ie miscarriages/stillbirths) are now up for murder charges with life imprisonment.  More ‘bad mother’ stuff. I suppose we can be grateful if they don’t get the death penalty.  Witches caused miscarriages too,  gave their foetuses the Evil Eye or some such, so they were burned at the stake.  “Women are being stripped of their constitutional personhood and subjected to truly cruel laws,” said Lynn Paltrow of the campaign National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW). “It’s turning pregnant women into a different class of person and removing them of their rights.”

No shit?

Money is not a substitute for consent

by Feminist at Sea

Whenever the issue of prostitution is broached, people often refer to it as a “job like any other”. “Most” or “all people hate their jobs”, is the phrase that rolls off the tongue without much consideration and they ask the person who frames prostitution as institutionalized rape “would you be doing the kind of work you do if people didn’t pay you for it?” To which I can answer without hesitation “I would and I have, and I still do when a friend or relative asks me to.” This is both because I like my job and I happily do the people I care about a favor.

Wrongs Darker than Death or Night

by Feminist at Sea

I have to admit something, and that is that I am a bit of a trekkie. From when I was a child I used to watch reruns of The Original Series and The Next Generation. The world of Star Trek simply appealed to me, though at the time I was not sure why.

Double-Speak

by Guest Blogger

Guest Post by Rebecca Mott

I am very sick of the lies and propaganda spread by the those who make the choice to say that prostitution is just sex work. Their double speak is making so ill, I am getting close to the point of wanting to die.

Their language is the language of the privileged, the language of those who make a profit from the prostituted, the language of those who may do a wee bit of paid sex but just for kicks, the language of distanced academic, and most common the language of punters and pimps.
