Radical Feminism is Gaining Ground

by cherryblossomlife

Associate Professor Betty McLellan and Dr Greg Canning [Sourced from Townsville Bulletin]

What happens when men finally realize they can no longer suppress women’s speech? When their counter-arguments prove to be unsubstantiated and factually incorrect? When they’re forced to accept that nobody takes the word “misandry” seriously, because while “misogyny” evokes the horrors of witch-burnings, female genital mutilation, honor killings, suttee, forced lobotomies and Chinese foot-binding, “misandry” only manages to evoke the image of an overweight white dude who hates his ex-wife and gets off on punching his perceived grievances into a keyboard…?

The “Born This Way” Political Tactic: What’s Next?

by Sargasso Sea

Around the time of the discovery of the AIDS virus in the very early 1980s, the Gay (and Lesbian) community adopted the ideology of homosexuality as innate; Gay (and Lesbian) people were born this way ergo they could not be “fixed”, it wasn’t their “fault” and AIDS could not be a punishment from God if the theist belief of being “made in His image“ were to hold.

It was politically expedient at the time, and quite intuitive really, to claim a biological basis for homosexuality when the AIDS pandemic itself was, and continues to be, a biological disaster. An innate homosexuality also allowed people close to Gays (and Lesbians), especially mothers, to absolve themselves of any *wrong doing* and instead build a platform from which they could advocate for their children, fathers (and mothers), brothers (and sisters), husbands (and wives) as full human beings with full human/medical rights.

Joss Whedon and Jean-Paul Sartre: The Wanker Phallosophers

by allecto

— FROM THE ARCHIVES —

Phallosopher contemplating his meaningless existence, and how deep his meaninglessness is.

Ok, so I’m currently thinking a lot about the episode of Firefly, Objects in Space. This was the last episode of the TV series before production was stopped. And as such it became one of the most important to the fans of the series. Now I did want to talk about the racism of this particular episode. And I will. I will be focusing particularly on the construction of lust, both in this episode, and in the series as a whole. But first I wanted to talk a little about male philosophy as Wank.

Joss Whedon really loves Wank. That is basically the moral of this episode Objects in Space. I will be referring to Joss Whedon as a Phallosopher throughout this entry. I envisage Phallosophers to encompass all the Great Male Phallosophers throughout the ages. From Aristotle to Camus to Sartre to Whedon. Phallosophy is characterised by self-obsession, misogyny, and a disturbing, yet relentless tendency to produce Wank. Phallosophers are generally Bores. Now, what is common to most Phallosophers is their acute susceptibility to Male Artist Syndrome, as theorized very superbly by Dissenter:

Mansplaining away Hollywood misogyny

by Noanodyne

Salon continues their tradition of having a male write on a subject he is less qualified to write about than any of the many women who are experts on the subject that they could have gotten to write the article. Michael Barthel takes on the subject of women in the film industry and does a predictably ridiculous job of it. But don’t take my word for it, here is what he said in this article at Salon: “The Oscars’ woman problem.”

The title and his opening give an immediate glimpse of what’s to come. Using the trope “woman problem” gives his perspective away immediately. As Simone de Beauvoir said in The Second Sex:

“[T]he whole of feminine history has been man-made. Just as in America there is no Negro problem, but rather a white problem; just as anti-Semitism is not a Jewish problem, it is our problem; so the woman problem has always been a man problem.”

Firefighters Group Sex Scandal Exposed

by allecto

A culture of homosexual group sex has been exposed with recent allegations of ‘sexual abuse’ by some retired fire fighters against their colleagues. These allegations have given rise to a debate on the nature of consent within group sex between men. Some sources have jumped to immediate conclusions on the matter, blaring headlines such as “Brutal Abuse Exposed” (Cover of The Sunday Telegraph, Sunday 14th February). However the issue is far more complicated than that.

We need to take into consideration several important points before we make such spurious judgment on the nature of this so called ‘abuse’.

Ron Paul blows the misogynist dog whistle, liberal doodbro responds

by HUB Newsfeed

According to A.J. Dellinger, writing at Salon, “Ron Paul’s popularity has doubled in the past four years for one simple reason.” Wait for it.

It’s because Dellinger and his liberal doodbro cohort are “the screwed generation.” They’re mad as hell, they’re stamping the feet for attention, and they’re not going to take it anymore! Dellinger tells us how badly used and abused his “generation” has been:

“We are the generation that continues to pay into Social Security with every paycheck but suspects we may never see the benefits of it.”

It’s completely lost on Dellinger and all the doods like him that he belongs to the class of people that has reaped the vast majority of the economic goodies for a long, long time. But, oh no, that might have come to an end!

Public Porn Users, Thy Name is Male Entitlement

by lishra

On the list of harmful crap men get away with or believe they can get away with, “looking at child pornography on an airplane” is a newer one. Grant Smith, a Utah professor, was caught looking at the images in-flight by, of course, the passengers who were sitting around him. Former prosecutor Wendy Murphy told a CNN affiliate, “The notion that someone would be so bold as to view it in public is extraordinary, and I’m not sure what the explanation is.” Well, then. Let’s see why “someone” might do such a brazen thing.

Who are the Perpetrators?

by smash

In the US earlier this week, it came to light that in the 1990s, two different women accused Republican presidential candidate and current front-runner Herman Cain of sexual harassment when he was the head of the National Restaurant Association in 1999.

Herman Cain denies sexually harassing anyone.

Of course, denial is tactic men in power frequently use when accused of using, buying, harassing, and abusing women. Consider the DSK case, the Anthony Wiener case, Silvio Berlusconi, Arnold Schwarzenegger, (he’s got two!), Justice Thomas,  and more. The list of male leaders involved in and denying sex scandals is exceptionally long. In all of these cases, we have examples of men who believe that they should, as a condition of their status as powerful males, be believed- even when they are lying.  All of the above men denied their abusive behavior.

Do women also make public denials?

Anarchist Politics Inform Occupy Wall Street

by FCM

at occupy wall street, apparently anarchy rules: “dont call the cops unless absolutely necessary” carries the day with these revolutionaries.  gee, where have we seen this before?  thats right: the 18-year old male anarchist who claims to have kickstarted slutwalk baltimore also believes that the community should reverse-slut-shame people i mean men behaving badly into cleaning up their behavior, instead of calling the cops, lest a historical record be left to inform those not directly involved, and lest any actual criminal sanctions be imposed on criminal offenders.  in the case of one man who was observed repeatedly groping women at OWS, the community decided to hand this dood over to the police anyway.  the reason?  he was giving the rest of the much-maligned protesters “a bad name” by sexually violating women.
